Mr. Andrew Greensmith is an expert in conducting secondary Rhinoplasty in Melbourne. He considers revision surgeries as one of the biggest challenges for Rhinoplasty surgeons. However, performing numerous successful surgeries has helped him gain valuable experience. This surgery generally takes around 2-3 hours. However, this time may be extended in case the surgeon has to do rib graft procedures. Patients usually have to spend a night or two, after surgery, at the hospital.

Secondary Rhinoplasty refers to when a patient is undergoing surgery on their nose having had one, sometimes many more operations on the nose in the past. This provides one of the greatest challenges to Rhinoplasty surgeons. As a Rhinoplasty surgeon I’ve performed a lot of revisions on patients who’ve had surgery elsewhere and this is some of the most challenging surgeries that I do. Time for this sort of surgery can range from similar to a primary Rhinoplasty, 2-3 hours to as long as 5 hours, if we need to do extra surgery such as rib graft procedures. In many cases the patients with secondary Rhinoplasty procedures need to stay in hospital for one or two nights. While this surgery is incredibly difficult, I’ve had experience over the years with performing many revision Rhinoplasty surgeries. And most certainly I want most cases to provide quite a dramatic improvement in the patient’s appearance with this type of surgery.
